Mochi, formally known as Moon, was rescued out of Hood River in winter of 2017 by Silent Wave Horse Rescue in Kimberly, Oregon. This sweet sorrel Paint cross mare is being trained by 10-year-old Karington Mershon is growing up a horse-crazy kid in Sandy, Oregon. She was riding her pony before she could even walk and now competes at local level shows and 4-H. Karington Karington often travels with her family competing along side her mom Ashley and little sister Kimber mostly in western events including cattle classes. When Karington isn’t practicing for her events she enjoys trail riding, gathering and working cattle, shooting targets off her horse with her BB gun, and just plain “horsin’ around.” Karington’s can-do attitude, intelligence, and work ethic serve her well in both her equine activities and school. Karington’s unassuming demeanor, kindness and empathy make her a perfect candidate for the challenge of training a rescue horse.
Mochi is a 4-year-old Quarter Horse mare. She does all the basics including tie, clip, bathe, load and trailer. Under saddle she is broke W/T/C, has a great stop, moves off of leg pressure and is starting to neck rein. She is a confident mare. She will travel nicely in and out of the arena. She takes care of herself and her rider. Because Mochi is young and green, she would be best suited for an intermediate to experienced horse home. Her bold personality makes her an excellent choice for a rider looking to continue their horsemanship or to just take nice quiet trail rides. Follow Mochi and Karington’s progress on Facebook.
